The DC Rape Crisis Center is a grassroots community organization serving the Washington community since 1972. The Center provides direct services, advocacy and education related to sexual violence. The DC Rape Crisis Center works toward a world free of sexual violence and recognizes the connections between oppressions in our society.

Currently, we are recruiting for staff to join our Counseling and Community Education department. The Center offers a supportive, fun work environment; flexible hours and a benefits plan that includes paid health insurance, paid leave and a pension plan, and competitive salary.

We are seeking qualified applicants for the following positions:

Child and Family Therapist

The Child and Family Therapist provides individual counseling for clients (4-7) and family counseling around issues of trauma, sexual violence and healing. The ideal candidate is a licensed Social Worker or Professional Counselor with at least two (2) years of experience working with children and adolescents.

Program Therapist

The Program Therapist will provide individual, couples and group therapy to children, adolescent and adult survivors of sexual trauma. The Program Therapist is also responsible for conducting outreach to the Latino community and conducting trainings for professionals in community organizations. The ideal candidate has two (2) years of experience working with diverse communities, is bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural and possesses a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling. Previous experience working with issues of trauma and sexual violence are a plus.

Community Education Coordinator

This position will recruit DCPS high school students to participate in the Peer Education program at three local high schools. The Coordinator will also work as part of School Policies Working Group to develop DC school policies. This position requires someone with experience working with teens and strong public speaking or training skills.

Community Organizing Assistant

The Model project is an organizing project working with young adults, residents of East of the River, and LGBTQ communities. We are seeking an individual who has a passion for organizing and working with underserved populations. The Assistant will help reach the goals of the project including recruiting working group members, conducting outreach activities, and training groups for organizing.

All positions include some evening and occasional weekend hours.
