Eligibility

Evaluation period of first 3 days. Emergency shelter for battered women and their children, boys to age 12. Provide counseling for victims, offenders, family. They accept clients from the Washington Metro area. Also a Safe Visitation Center for couples and children. Can extend stay to 30 days maximum.

Open to Alexandria residents ONLY. Offers anger management group for offenders in battery cases. English and Spanish women’s support group. Also have a 24-hour shelter.

Treats Fairfax County residents ONLY. Out-patient counseling for youth (5 and up) to adults, and geriatrics. Connected with abused women’s shelter, emergency service. Offers crisis intervention and groups for domestic violence, and the mentally handicapped. Anger management group for abusers. Many support groups. Links to inpatient services, adolescent and adult day treatment programs. Adolescent program is set up like a school program, and for adults they help maintain stability after leaving the hospital.

24-hour hotline! Provide free counseling, offer support groups for domestic abuse and sexual abuse. They have a men’s and women’s program for offenders.
