DAWN provides services, advocacy and referrals to Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deaf-blind survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence as well as community education addressing violence in the Deaf community.

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Liaison Unit was officially established in April 2002 by the Metropolitan Police Department. The agency’s goal is to provide the best service possible to meet the unique needs of individuals of the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
