Welcome

Sexual minorities experience the same forms of sexual violence as the larger community. They may also experience sexual assault as a hate crime and street harassment based on real or perceived LGBTQ identity. These communities also face increased barriers to reporting an assault such as homophobia and the fear of being “outed.” However, healing is possible. If you are a survivor of sexual abuse and you are a sexual minority, you are not alone. The DC Rape Crisis Center provides non-judgmental support and counseling for LGBTQ identified survivors.
